This congress brought together professionals working with this population—doctors, psychologists, and educators—from across Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. Advances in research and the current challenges and needs of people with Down syndrome were discussed. Dr. Mayoral presented a poster titled "Oral Health in People with Down Syndrome," which addresses the most significant oral health problems affecting these patients, their treatment, and prevention. Prevention is crucial, as it can help avoid much more serious problems.
